My courteous clarion call to all the citizens of India
23.9.10
The High court is scheduled to deliver its verdict on the Ayodhya issue on September 24, 2010. The decision would obviously be in the favour of either the Hindus or the Muslims. This will generate anger in the hearts of the other group. The justice system in our country is held in high regard.
Whatever might be the outcome of the High Court ruling on this issue, both the religious groups must accept it peacefully and with self-control. Even if the decision unacceptable to them, the Indian democratic process has provided them with the right to appeal the same in the Supreme Court. The Indian public must not be blinded by religion and perform such actions that harm the nation. This is in the interest of both religions.
Our country is rapidly progressing. The world sees us as a rising superpower. Both religions must desist from such acts that would stem this growth. The spiritual, political and social leaderships must caution the people along these lines.
Some of our neighbouring countries have begun efforts to prevent us from becoming that superpower. In addition to this, there are groups that are continually seeking to create tensions between different ethnicities. They purposely and continually attempt to generate strife on grounds of religion. I hope that no citizen nourishes their ill-intention of compromising the nation’s dignity. ‘India is my country. All Indian are my brothers and sisters’. People from all faiths must bear this in mind. This is my clarion call to all my Indian brethren.
